A well-known name in Pakistan’s wrestling world, Talha Ali, also known as “The Iron Man,” is currently facing a dangerous situation. Talha Ali, hailing from Lyari, has received a threatening letter, warning him of being killed if he fails to pay a large sum of money. This threat points to the local Gang Wars Mafia in Lyari, which are notorious for using illegal means to intimidate people in the area.
It is a regrettable situation that Talha Ali, a national athlete who has been bringing pride to the country through his hard work and skills, is now worried about his own life. While Lyari has produced numerous talented wrestlers for the country, the criminal elements in the area have put these successes in jeopardy.
Speaking about the grave issue, Talha Ali said, “For me, my pride in my sport and my community is more important than my life, but under these circumstances, my safety has become a priority.”
We must urgently expect the government and police to take these threats seriously and take action against the elements targeting the country’s athletes. This is the time to provide full protection to athletes like Talha Ali, so they can continue their sport without fear and further bring pride to their community.
